I replied, honestly I think, that the film is\u00c2\u00a0a few years old but still relevant. Nothing has\u00c2\u00a0changed regarding the dynamics of advertising.<\/p>\n<p>Still, if a more up-to-date film were available, I would like to know about it, so I wrote to professor Bernard McGrane, creator of the\u00c2\u00a0brilliant film &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theadandtheid.com\/\">The Ad and the Id: Sex, Death, and Advertising<\/a>,&#8221; which I&#8217;ve used for years in my classrooms. Glad my videos are useful to you. Unfortunately I haven\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t\u00c2\u00a0 (yet) done a new edition. Regarding subliminals \u00c2\u00a0I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve heard that \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Programming the Nation\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0(2010) DVD <em>may<\/em> be very good but it seems to be having difficulty actually coming out and being available (I just checked Amazon and Netflix).<\/p>\n<p>I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d tell your students that my experience is that it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s all alive and well and ever creatively thriving (sort of like our military technologies). I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d suggest they go out on an expedition and find some on their own.
