I wanted to know your feelings on the infiltration of Asians in the Bay Area that are taking jobs and schooling away from people that have been paying taxes for a number of years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nip Tuck: <\/strong>Okay.\nWell, Caller, let me first get you to define what we mean by\n\u201cinfiltration by Asians.\u201d Are you talking about immigrants? \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Caller:<\/strong>\nYes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nip Tuck: <\/strong>Legal\nimmigrants?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Caller: <\/strong>Uh,\nyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nip Tuck: <\/strong>Okay,\nwell if somebody is a legal immigrant, and they are in fact working\nfor a living, aren&#8217;t they if fact paying taxes?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Caller: <\/strong>Yeah,\nbut uh, let&#8217;s say&#8230; let me give you an example. You know, if I go to\nsign up for a college class \u2026 not exactly legal aliens but also\nillegal aliens signing up for school and taking the place of a class\nthat maybe I wanted to take. And here I am paying taxes and working\nhard on the side and not getting out of it what I think I deserve.\n<em>I&#8217;m not prejudiced or\nanything like that (<\/em>italics\nmine<em>). <\/em>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But uh,  I think, uh, that in fact I heard that the US government has determined that the San Jose area is completely saturated by new coming Asians, and it&#8217;s becoming out of control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dave Emory: <\/strong>Well if the situation really bothers you, you could always move to Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nip Tuck: <\/strong>(laughs)\nTake up the\nempty space left behind&#8230;No, Caller, I have to deal with this in\nfairly serious manner. First of all, when they do wind up in the\nworkforce, they&#8217;re usually taking jobs no-one else wants. They&#8217;re\npaying taxes that they can&#8217;t ever collect refunds on, because they&#8217;re\nillegal, and most of them will never get involved with any kind of\ncivic activity \u2013 like welfare, or school, or anything where they\nhave to show documentation, like a social security number the great\nfear in refuge communities and illegal immigrant communities of being\nexposed. So, I think you have to be very careful, Caller, to find out\nwhat the truth of these things are before you succumb to what I\nconsider to be a campaign of rumors without substantiation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Caller: <\/strong>I can give you a really quick example. I was privileged to be signed up in a county-funded schooling project \u2013 job training for low-income people. I&#8217;d worked part-time all summer, so I qualified, and this particular situation was that they had had to fill their quota of Asians \u2026 and they picked about 25 students \u2013 four Asians \u2013 and the Asians were the first ones to drop out because of the language barrier. They couldn&#8217;t handle the class and now these spaces, which I consider pretty valuable are now gone because&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nip Tuck:  <\/strong>Caller,\nI don&#8217;t see the connection there at all&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is what unconscious racism sounds like.
