“The Yonaguni Monument is a massive underwater rock formation off the coast of Yonaguni, the southernmost of the Ryukyu Islands, in Japan. There is a debate about whether the site is completely natural, is a natural site that has been modified, or is a manmade artifact.[1][2] The site is variably referred to as the “Yonaguni Underwater Formations” (与那国島海底地形, Yonaguni-jima Kaitei Chikei?) and the “Yonaguni Underwater Ruins” (与那国島海底遺跡, Yonaguni-jima Kaitei Iseki?) in Japanese.” (from Wikipedia)

…ah, so…desu ka; shikata ga nai? Well…having been married to a Japanese woman from Arkansas for the past 25-years, and having a mother-in-law (“Okasan”) who hails from Naha, Okinawa-jima, I must say that the Japanese people are direct proof of alien (“extra-terrestrial”) colonization…which means that the Yonaguni artifacts are man-made, not natural. If we could just lower the sea level OR raise the remains, we’d also have a really bitchin’ artificial reef for surfing some great waves…–JB
It’s close to Taiwan, John (within a hundred miles) and Dan and I are thinking about diving the site on my next trip to Formosa. I want to find one of the remaining crystal skulls!
Hey Shawn–”Outstanding!!” I hope that comes off…what a great little expedition. Of course, I’ll need a complete surf report from the Ryuku Islands…–JB
I think there are structures like this all around the world, submerged when the ice caps (for whatever reason), or parts of them, melted and flooded millions of square miles of inhabited territory.
…I think this is true…ancient floods submerged many cities, town, hamlets, and barns. Perhaps 10,000 years from now, our descendants will be snorkeling where the Santa Monica Freeway meets the San Diego Freeway and will discover “odd structures from antiquity,” such as the Federal building the Saban Tower on Wilshire Boulevard?
Yes, and they’ll discover the Capitol Records building and exclaim, “An obelisk! This culture was into dick worship!”
And they’d be pretty close to the truth.
